Otoko no Hen-sachi, do you know about it?  
When I first started to get into the V6 fandom, I was overwhelmed by the amount of variety shows the boys have done. Well, it's not too weird since this year is their 17th year. Two of them are the long-lasting show, Gakkou e Ikou (Let's go to school) and VVV6. I started watching from Gakkou e Ikou, then to VVV6, then to Mission V6, and lastly, Otoko no Hen-sachi.

At first glance, Otoko no Hen-sachi is almost like Mannequin 5, just that it's better in every way compared to Mannequin 5. I hate Mannequin 5 not because it's not funny, but I hate how girls have to talk bad of the clothes the mannequin wear and how they sometimes judge people personality based on the clothes they wear that day. To me, that's absolutely terrifying because every people have their own opinion and to make that as a judgement whether he's a good partner for a date or not was just wrong. That's why I rarely watch HnA after they change their format to VIP Room.

Otoko no Hen-sachi is like the upgrade version of Mannequin 5. So you put unpopular guys (unpopular here can be interpreted in many ways, not only because he's ugly. I remember that there's a guy who's not in relationship in 7 years and the girls are like, "SERIOUSLY?" but when he explained that's because he live in poverty at that time so he thought he shouldn't make the girl suffer with him, the audience did give him their votes) in the show and let the girls choose whether he's a boyfriend material or not by his answer related to love relationship, his personality, and how he interact with others. I think this is more realistic since you didn't only judge someone by their appearance, since the guys are hidden behind a big white paper thing and they only appear as shillouette. There's always a flaw, but I can overlook it and enjoy the show from the beginning until the end. I also like how V6 boys trying to help the unpopular guys to look good and presentable to the girls before the unpopular guys have to go out and face the girls.

Maybe this is just my opinion, I know people find Mannequin 5 but I never think it's good, not even once. But if you have the chance, you have to watch Otoko no Hen-sachi and I think you will learn something rather than just watching girls badmouthing guys about the clothes they wear.

I do listen to V6 songs once in a while but i seldom watch their shows..

if u don't mind, could u share a link with me so i can download and watch it too.. (subbed please ^o^)

V6 songs are all good~ If you want to hear good quality songs, you should listen to their song called "Will". It's really good :D

Sadly, there's no subbed version of this show yet. V6 shows are rarely subbed, that's why I'm planning to sub all of them~ :D If you want to download it, you can go to v6_unlimited. It's the best place to start with V6 :D

V6's show are good. I really love VVV6 and Gakkou eikou is really is interesting. Sadly, many of their variety shows are not sub >_<

Gakkou e ikou is definitely their best show! :D
That's a shame, definitely, that's why I'm trying hard in subbing them :D

Gakkou e ikou is definitely their best. I really love the trips that they've done. It really showed their bonds ;)

You're going to sub v6's shows too? That's great! xDDD

Guilty is a good song and the dance is just so elegant <3

I have to say, I thought that M5 was funny at first... but now its really boring. =_=;;;; I guess it was only funny when Kanjani 8 were guests. :p

After reading your post, I really think that V6's otoko hensachi is better. At first.. I thought it was a bad show because at the end of some episodes, I felt really bad for the guy scoring lower than 50 points. D:


However, that just means he now understands himself from a general perspective, right? not only are girls, but also V6 and a guest star is rating him and defending him for who he is as a person.

(I was shouting the whole time in my own head as I was typing this because I'm not use to seeing all caps xD)

Some of the guys even said that they learned a lot by guesting on the show, w hat women wish of him, what he should do or shouldn't do, so I think it's a plus to them :D The guys scored lower than 50 points because of his own fault I think LOl Some of them are quite gross so I understand what the girls are thinking. They're searching for a marriage partner after all XD

yeah, I love it how they tried their best to help the guys they presented. It's so heart-warming seeing them like that. Though Go-kun didn't really try XD

That's good to hear ^^ This show is good for the guys to know more about themselves. I don't think HnA really teaches that. They just "assume" that a person lacks confidence because they wear a certain clothing in a certain way. That's honestly ridiculous. *sighs* How is it that HnA turned out to be something like that? It used to be more about Japanese people who did amazing things, but were not appreciated for it. =_=;;;; Now its just... ugh. I don't know. A waste of time? I don't learn anything from watching it. Its just a typical "watch your idols do stupid things, and show their idiocy" variety show. And Sadly, it sells. =_=;;;

On the other hand, Otoko no Hensachi is not centered on V6. Its more like Gakkou e Ikou, where V6 help out students reach their dreams and goals. Here, V6 does ideally the same thing. I think that's why they could only do Mission V6 for only so long. (But I did enjoy it while it lasted).

And its okay xD I'm getting use to the caps now. //lol

Well, people didn't like boring stuff, and it's aired in golden time so I guess the producer want to go along with the flow. Himitsu don't sell anymore now, totally. And I'm glad that Japanese people taste are still working good.

That's what I feel too when I watch Otoko no Hensa-chi. It's just great that they focus on the unpopular guys and help them to get the girls. That's heart-warming :)
Mission V6 got a very good review (or as said by my Japanese friends) but it didn't last long because, well, how many missions you can think of? XD That's the main reason.

I think that if mission v6 was still on, it would eventually become more like gakkou e ikou or something. I thought they would have missions to help other people out and stuff. Oh wells.

I really like the okada and Patrick segments of Sihnchishiki Kaikyuu Kumagusu. (well, that's because those were the only ones that were ever subbed). :D I actually never understood the variety show. Like, how does it work and what was it mainly centered on. Care to tell? :D

The problem is that, the concept of Mission V6 is to let V6 do a challenge in 6 minutes, and I don't think helping people can be a mission with that rule, except they change everything XD

Patrick segements? What episode is that? If you tell me what episode of Kumagusu you want to be subbed, I can do that for you :) I really like kumagusu because it's very interesting and funny, and I learn quite a lot from that show~

About Japanese variety show, ou mean? For Japanese variety show, they always have a concept, like how Kumagusu only highlighted people who are interested in something and know a lot about that thing to be called "maniac". Or like Gakkou e ikou, which aim is to interact with students. So they always have a concept and build the show based on that. it's very rare that they go out of the concept (Himitsu is one of that rare case).

yeah, six minutes is too little of time to do anything xD But if I was the show director or something, I would've probably went crazy and tell V6 to do the most ridiculous things. xDDD

AHHH It all makes sense now!! No wonder they went to akihabara and visited different maid cafes xDDD (that's the Patrick segment I was talking about. I'm sure there are other episodes where he and okada do other things though... I'm not sure. I haven't watched much kumagusu xD)
So kumagusu is centered around otakus then ;D
Well, i don't have a particular episode i want subbed (since we're lucky enough to have even the smallest episode subbed in this fandom)~~~
If you decided to sub more kumagusu, I'll probably come to like the show. :3

Ah, that's what you mean with the Patrick episodes. I still haven't finished watching everything so I don't really know lol
That's because the theme is to visit "Moe" places, and Akihabara's Maid Cafe is the perfect place for that lol

Kumagusu is very very very interesting. I'll definitely sub it slowly but surely :D

On the other hand, I really like Shinchishiki Kaikyuu Kumagusu. Even if I have to struggle to download everything from clubbox, it's totally worth it :D
